Gold price eases on firm dollar ahead of central bank meetings,US data loom

Gold prices slipped on Today 30 July 2018 as the US dollar stood tall against its peers ahead of key central bank meetings and United States inflation and payrolls data this week

.Spot gold was nearly unchanged at $1,222.68 an ounce at 0107 GMT

.US gold futures were about 0.1 per cent lower at $1,222 an ounce

Gold Prices Today 

Asia - The dollar rose slightly against Asian major rivals today , as market participants awaited central bank meetings this week, which could set the near-term course for currencies

Central banks in focus include the Bank of Japan, which finishes a two-day meeting on Tuesday (31 July) , and the Federal Reserve, which ends its policy meeting on Wednesday(1 August). The Bank of England also makes a policy decision on Thursday

.The US Dollar also traded close to a 13-month high against China's yuan
